Win a Set of Recycled Map Stationery!

Local blog celeb, Esbee, at Life in Forsyth just posted her first blog contest of the year, and the prize is a set of my recycled map stationery. If you’d like to enter, hop on over to Life in Forsyth and get your creative juices flowing. Also, it’s for a good cause!

Crafty Update: Holiday Gift Guides Galore!

I’m very excited that my recycled map stationery is getting so much exposure this year. The holidays are always a busy time, but this year things really seem to be amping up. It’s making me start to think in terms of refining my blog, which as you know has thus far been a conglomeration of random thoughts, into a true art/design/craft blog. Maybe that will be a goal for 2010…transitioning into something more professional (and more lucrative).

Rounding out my excellent 2009 are some blog mentions I wanted to brag about. First off, the good people at Focus Organic have now included me in their Green Christmas and Holiday Gift Guide for the second year in a row!

New this year is an inclusion in the Indie Fixx Handmade Holidays Gift Guide. That’s a site I’ve admired for a while, and I’m thrilled they noticed my stuff.

And finally, A Perfect Peach also discovered the joys of map stationery!

This has been my most successful year yet, and I’m hopeful that it will only get better from here on out!

Crafty Update: Green Upgrader

I’d like to give a shout out to a cool website that is currently featuring my recycled map stationery in their holiday gift guide: Green Upgrader! I am really psyched to be included in the group of eco-friendly gift ideas that they’ve assembled. This is a super cool site, and handmade (especially eco-friendly) gifts are the “in” thing this year. And hopefully every year!

My recycled map stationery can be purchased here!

It’s really very affordable, and you can feel good about buying a product that supports sustainability and an independent artisan. Perfect for your favorite traveller or eco-minded pal.

Crafty Update: Paso Pacifico

Today Dote Handmade Goods was asked to participate in a charity event held by Paso Pacifico, a non-profit organization based in Ventura, CA dedicated to protecting endangered forests and wildlife along the pacific slope of Central America. Their programs include reforestation, community-based eco-tourism, wildlife research and protection, and environmental education. I’ll be providing them with eco-friendly map stationery for a silent auction at an event that will benefit their conservation programs in Nicaragua. Score one for the environment!
